Commonwealth Games 2026: The Complete Day-by-Day Schedule for Indian Athletes: The Commonwealth Games are underway in Glasgow, and this edition looks different from the ones before it. After Australia pulled out as host over budget concerns, Glasgow stepped in with a trimmed-down Games — just 10 sports across four venues, running July 23 to August 2. Smaller footprint, same stakes: India’s 126-strong contingent is out to medal across athletics, weightlifting, boxing, judo, artistic gymnastics, track cycling, lawn bowls, swimming and more, with Neeraj Chopra and Mirabai Chanu leading the charge.

The Big Picture for India

Zoom out and a pattern emerges: the first week is a slow build through team sports, gymnastics and swimming heats, before the Games hit a stretch — roughly July 26 to August 1 — where India could be chasing medals in five or six sports on the same night. Mirabai Chanu opens the medal rush on July 26. Neeraj Chopra closes out athletics on July 31 with the javelin final. In between, boxing, judo, track cycling and lawn bowls all crown their champions in tightly packed final days.

For Indian fans, that means the back half of the Games — especially July 28 through August 1 — is must-watch territory, with finals stacking up back-to-back across venues most nights.
